Christopher Hansard:[Imagine]
The numerous messiahs all born of virgin births
gathered in a waiting room
after some time
a voice said
‘all of you have a hard job ahead, but the greatest of you is one who
will come and go unheard and die
in hope of saving your fellow beings…
she knows who she is’
there was a collective sigh of relief amongst the men
even salvation is part of the boy’s club..
another voice added,
‘most of you have chosen this to learn the lesson that you have not learned,
that you can not save others, but only save your self”
The blood trickled down her face,
the memory of that time came back to her
her body was dry with pain, there tied to the withered tree
she saw her tormentors, all dressed in fur and skin
the priest looked at her with hate
‘ you are not the daughter of god, you are not the chosen one’
and he walked back to his cave
the sun was setting
she knew that sometime in the future
a man would dig up her bones
having fused with the tree
stating that he had discovered
some ancient and primitive burial rite
and imagine finding it under the remains
of the Empire State Building…
messiahs come and go
but the earth always remains

Christopher Hansard:[ Stillness]
Stillness dwells in the deepest places
of confusion and anger and helplessness
when the world no longer cares for you
and the time has run its course
stillness will reveal itself and show you
the everlasting path
stillness dwells in the face of adversity
humbly and with grace
i have seen the way of stillness
and have seen the loss of grace
the way of life leads to stillness
and the way of stilness to
conscious life
call it to you
dwell within it
and delight it in
the silent
stillness
of the
earth

Christopher Hansard:[The Gift of Prayer]
There is in silence a chance to know
the origins of how and why
of shame and blame
of loss and gain
there is in silence
a chance to know
the beauty of genius
in its most essential form
and the sombre touch
of untrammeled joy
there is in silence
a chance to know
and a chance to listen
a chance to breathe
the inherent wisdom
for silence is not the absence of noise
but the frequency of love
for silence goes beyond
atmosphere or situation
and is found in the birth
of each thought
each insight
each aspiration
silence is the gift of prayer

Christopher Hansard:[There Is..]
There are many worlds and yet only one mind
there are many languages but only one word
there are many ways to love but only one love
for those who believe in a god there are many gods but only one identity of that god,
there are many beliefs but only one faith
there are many dreams but only one dreamer
there are many universes but only one omniverse
there are many forms of time but only one continuity, for time like matter is finite because our minds are finite, non-existant but formed from the flexion of desire in matter.
there are many numbers but only one integer that describes what was, but not what is
there is only one state of being from which all beings emanate, and only one consciousness which disperses itself throughout light and sound so that it may find itself again, for matter is the passion spent as consciousness seeks its own fulfilment ..
there is only one truth but it is so profound that it is spilt across all living creatures so that each may find the path to truth
there is only one and the one is you and you are everywhere as all that was, is and can be
there is a place fall of grace and simplicity
it lives within the heart and the brain and is set alight by neural fire and when it burns the world will stop but for a everlasting instant and creation will be renewed again and again and again

Christopher Hansard:[Still of the Night]
Have you in the still of night
heard the roaring of the divine?
have you heard the soft growling
of wisdom on the prowl ?
have you felt your ego tremble
or your mind become afraid?
for all our sufferings are based upon
the mind which does not exist
and our habits which
are merely
furnishings for fear
have you felt the falcon of light
dive in the darkest night
with outstretched talons to rip and tear
at the fragile life
that we all so fondly hold?
the times of life and death are brief
and are paths for our psyche
to shake off the lessons that are learnt
and thus to be reformed
have you in the still of night
stopped to listen
to the voice of love that
calls your name
in silence?
It speaks in grace and of grace too
it offers up a subtle freedom
for if you wish liberation
you need to give it up
in the silence of the night
you can hear the turning of the earth
and the mystery in the making
is the womb of your rebirth

Christopher Hansard:[The Evershining Face]
The changing of time and the changing of man
are the changing of impulse
from the unconscious plan
the role of the human
is starting to change
as the nature of light
increases its range
of frequency
and depth
the time of unfolding
is rushing in
as a wave of harsh sound
in the most clamour and din
only in silence will the true sound be heard
and that will the be
the original word
that was spoken when time and matter
were formed
compressed into one
from the body of consciousness
and the breath of all
the sound and the speech
the rush and the whisper
all of it is formed
and renewed
with a gesture
a sacred
wave of the sacred hand
and the planets will flutter
and rotate in the muster
of souls and dark matter
as Light is created
and sound gives birth
the universal
the single
the mass
the impulse
the treble the bass
the heartbeat
the footfall of grace
in the heart
of
the ever shining face

Christopher Hansard:[There are Songs to be Sung]
There are songs to be sung in the darkest of times
songs to be sung in the harshest of times
songs to be sung
how often have you given your heart and mind to the powers that be
only to find that they are not the powers that are
in heart of things
in the bursting flower
in the glint of light upon the eye of a child
there are songs to be sung
not to hum along
in false attitudes pretending to be merry
but songs in the soul
that are there to be listened to
they will demand you to sing
sing out loud
in the harshest and darkest of times
there are songs
to be sung
a true song is a lasting spell
that makes things change
turns hurt to healing
the songs are within
the songs demand that you stop pretending
and wake to the change that is coming
you can smell it in the wind
you can know it in the crowd and throng
the fallen and the strong
there is spirit in the song
that sings
within

Christopher Hansard:[Some Say]
Some say that Nelson Mandela
is a terrorist turned Statesman and Hero,
Others say that
the Dalai Lama is a Hero turned Terrorist
it all depends upon your point of view
and your belief in circumstance
and the political agenda created by
the forces of Existence and the urge to survive
Some say that Barrack Obama is a muslim
and that all politicians are liars and war mongers
We have lived in the time of the appeased middle class
a false state, an invention of nineteenth century
politics that took full root in the last century
but hungry capitalism like hungry communism
will not last the morning, in the full day of history
everyone is an expert today
because they can throw their opinions
into a global whirlpool of information
we live in a time when opinion is regarded as truth
and that certainty is a result of economy and wealth
we need to not believe the things our fear holds us too
in the quiet places of the world
wisdom is moving
stirring
waking up
stop
feel it
tune into
the place where true communication
begins and stops
some say that all muslims are warmongers
some say that all christians are warmongers
some say that all jews are warmongers
words are the warmongers
when the communication
is violent
long before the actions start
the first bullet is fired by a word
well before the trigger is ever pulled
some say that love is for dreamers
but dreamers teach the world to dream
and so to imagine and from that
comes the actions of change
and transformation
any word of violence
creates misery
it will hang around you
like a perfume made from the rotting corpses
of a war zone, an earthquake
or the lingering cancers of gossip
stop, call the stillness within
awaken the love
ask for forgiveness
give thanks and gratitude
and the world
becomes a larger place
and every possibility
a choice for action and
ready to become an event

Christopher Hansard:[The Gifts of Dawn and Dusk]
Strong convictions often lead to bad measures
and bad outcomes
if you want to plan a revolution do it in a crowded place
no one will listen to your secrets
if you want to change your heart
transform your being
many will seek to stop you
when one person changes
the light of change is cast upon others
driving out the shadows
the anger of today
is the sadness and shame of yesterday
when change wakes deep within you
be prepared for resistance
when others seek to harm you
act from integrity
then the time will come
when you will have the last word
but if you act from a state of graciousness
there is no need to have the last word
for your detractors will harm themselves
bring love to them
by not acting as they would act
light incense for peace and parity
and learn the art of communication
that non violiently enriches your soul
in the sacred times
of dawn and dusk
see the unspoken way
inscribe itself in the motes of dust and the whirling light
letters form and fade as with its speech
whispering the sacred, listening to the sublime
awakening the profane and the trapped
letters of eternity in the form of things
such are the gifts of dawn and dusk

Christopher Hansard:[ Language]
language is how we make our thoughts communicated
language is often limited to words
but what of belief, faith and hope
of anger, rage and grief
language is the energy
by which we
evolve
the material world
is the language of the psyche
so it can evolve
to eventually cast of its carapace
and move into
consciousness
language is the illusion of the psyche
and the bridge by which you can
cross the chasm of suffering
