are merely

light refracted

through the lens of longing for a sense of peace or contentment

for even the most

satisfied of men

would seek a little contentment

and respite from

that which makes his life

so pleasurable and agreeable

when one stops to reflect

upon the life one has had

see it merely as a shaft of light

upon a time in which

you once stood

and thereby had a chance

to unpick the seam
