Christopher Hansard:[ are you sitting comfortably?]
are you sitting comfortably?
on your hands?
on your dreams?
on your hurt, anger and rage?
are you sitting
on your love, desire
passion
and innermost wisdom?
….are you sitting comfortably?

Christopher Hansard:[ the open hand]
the open hand
waits
fingers
separated
by prejudice
dressed up
as religion or concern
but the open hand
will wait until
its gesture is
understood

Christopher Hansard:[ still]
when the world becomes overwhelming
and life starts to drag
when you feel frustrated, angry,sad
be still
beneath your circumstance and pain
there lies
stillness
so stop
and sense
the flowing breath
and there
you will
find the
entrance
to your still place

Christopher Hansard:[ Heaven and Hell]
Heaven and Hell
both share
the same
entrance
but their
rear exits
lead to different places

Christopher Hansard:[ Reflections upon the emerging soul of all mankind]
Still hangs the air,
violins and cellos
snakes in between the cars
tones of Joni Mitchell
linger in burnt coffee
the look of love plays on a juke box
two old men recount the days, when and then and if it were different
this all goes into the soup
that makes us ready for
evolution,
mankind is an alphabet soup,
a thin broth, a froth of time and space
we need to create our own souls
so that humankind can aspire
to a state of liberation
grey shadows are cast
down
Fifth Avenue
all the way to the Village
as I walk
I walk in the footsteps
of Wolves and Cougar
of tall trees exuding sap
and scents of life
they still are there if you know how to see
The Hudson River
wants to go back to where it came from
Every city of the world
is a nursery for human behaviour
if you want to truly understand
Global Warming
then
look at the pollution
within
your
Self
in a window I see all my fellow beings
like Plato’s Cave
wondering what and if
but this century is not the age of observation
or even reason
but passion, compassion and timely rage
for it is the century of squeezing
and short straw choosing
every species has time
when it chooses to move on
or fade

Christopher Hansard:[ Saying 'thankyou' from your heart]
saying
thank you
from your heart
with true meaning and devotion
to the spirit of thankfulness
changes you, the person you thanked
and the world,
for in an age of instant demand and wanting,
false politeness and ingratiating customer service
true thankfulness
reminds us of our shared humanity

Christopher Hansard:[ trust is self-love]
when you can trust your self
in the ups and downs of life
and that trust extends itself to
all living beings
then you will know
that trust is self-love
and that it is the third law of the universe

Christopher Hansard:[ the search]
how long have you searched?
search for meaning, peace of mind, a quiet place to live,
a job that satisfies you, a sense of meaning
how long have you searched for daily things
from thermal socks to power saving devices
the search goes on
we search all the time
because we know that by searching
we reveal to ourselves
the art of discovery

Christopher Hansard:[ doubt and belief]
doubt and belief both cast shadow and broadcast light
both illuminate and confuse
for both are borne out of faith
the faith that creates doubt
the faith that creates belief
faith itself can not be created
but exists
within that element of yourself
that has strongest emotional charge

Christopher Hansard:[ in all there is life]
In all,
there is life
when seemingly
there is nothing
there is all
that dwells in mind, body, universe and self
chains of conscious drops of life
seeking each the other
to merge
into life
