what do you do when you walk?

is it just one foot in front of the other?

can you

learn to

be just

the steps

without

any expectation?

if there is calamity

and your world falls apart

sit in the pause

between each step

the pause between the moments

and know that even the ‘now’ is fleeting

and that

all that this is

is a variation

of the natural pause

the breath,the step,

the heartbeat

the sunlight

in the morning air,

the mist in evening light

the echoes of a distant moon

there is the question

that lies within each of us

waiting to be answered

the question must be asked but does not have answer

only each of us knows the question

deep within

a time will come

when time

will stop

and all that

was and is

and shall be

will no longer

inhabit any form, function or force

and all will fade away into

the sleep

where imagination

gestates

between

the aeons

and the impulse

mindful

of the way

the mind

completes

its

fabrications

unravels the thread

of the false self

of which the mind is made

becoming mindful is eventually the death knell of

who we imagine ourselves to be

in the world of

the constant past

what lies behind the face

you offer to the world?

do you know?

can you see what is there

behind the person

you think you may be?

in the illusory world of the self nothing is certain

if you go beyond that

certainty or uncertainty

no longer apply

to the way you live

your

life

or

what

you

see

All things are

essentially pure

All people

have purity

within them

a divine impulse

of

innocence

and

peace

senses are seeing

the invisible

within the visible

and the known

in the unknown

what time do we have?

what time

lingers in the shadows

or like a worm infested parrot

sits on the shoulder of that old pirate,

circumstance,

in your life how much time do you profess to have?

between starlight and car lights

between light waves and the waves of night

what time do you have?

what have you woven

with all these threads

that construct

the garment of your time

breath

it

is

all

that

we

have

the only thing that we own

everything else

falls between breath

and breathing

What do you see?

Do you look,

observe

?

are you eyes just gelatinous globules

that carry light

?

are you looking?

are you seeing?

is there

a

inner

vision

within

looking

for

a way

out

?
