Enemy, Friend and Self
The world can be a confusing place for many of us. When we felt affected by life’s challenges we often finding ourselves falling into the following behaviours, one of Enemy, one of Friend and one of Self. This means that sometimes we act or behave as an enemy, which means we create a territory around us, we exert energy defensively, which different to boundary making. A boundary is a marker created by healthy choices. A territory is a no-man’s land of emotional beliefs that must be defended aggressively at all costs.
When we behave in this territorial way we become an enemy, to ourselves and to Life and to other people. Many people become overwhelmed by living in their fears that they create territories instead of boundaries. Territories require constant maintenance and exhaust our spiritual potential.
When we enter into the process of Friend we are open to everyone and no one. We are inclusive and exclusive because in being a friend to everyone we often lose contact with the nature of friendship which starts with our love of the self.
Self relates to that within us which perpetuates our desire for life and living in three ways. The first way is that we use our Self to fuel our fears and reactive desires. The second is use our Self to contain our fears and desires. The third is that we listen to our Self and know what our fears and desire truly are and where they come from.
In doing that there comes a point when Enemy, Friend and Self give up their masks and they unite to become your essential nature in the daily world. When this happens they make life and create connections to the inner nature of each and every event in our life and release the meaning of why we are here and where we are going.
We then know why we are angry, sad and hurting. We learn appreciation, acceptance and the nature of continuity. We understand the soul’s evolution through human consciousness and the constant rebirth of the individual.Intuitive abilities increase and we fall in love with life’s less glamorous offerings.
