Christopher Hansard:[ discrimination]
discrimination
based upon first impressions
is not the best lense to view
the world as it seems

Christopher Hansard:[ the broken wing]
mankind
a fallen bird
with a broken wing
shall learn to fly again
the broken wing
has cast its shadow across
our human space
and soon it shall be withdrawn
for it to mend
and then once healed
outstretched and ambient to the breeze of coming change
the human way will soar
and come to rest
and have no need to fly again

Christopher Hansard:[ taking the quiet]
when you rush you loose a little of your self
if you slow down
taking the quiet
moments that dwell within
you
you will find that you have all the time you need
to enjoy the beauty of your self

Christopher Hansard:[ Light seeds]
Light seeds
blistering the air
exploding constantly
beware
some are blooms to be
others, weeds
Light seeds
awakening
the
inner knowing
but be in the world
and walk the path of sowing
growth

Christopher Hansard:[ path]
there is a path
seldom trod
or cleared of undergrowth
it is not glorious or feted
it is narrow and stony underfoot
full of dangers and foes
it sometimes offers friends and insight
on the trip to those that make it
for life is the path
that if you tread it
you will be exposed
to reality and its afterglow

Christopher Hansard:[ You are a Time Machine]
you are a time machine
your body and mind
weaves and casts the spell of time
the universe and nature
all generate the impulse of time
as does your body, mind and brain
you are a time machine
generating the fabric on which
life is laid

Christopher Hansard:[ do you know where you are going to?]
do you
know
where
you are
going
in the rush
of your history
and the tenancy of your life
for each of us dwell a short time
in a room we call a life
do you know
where you are going to?
the world is full of condemnation
pollution of the mind which is the world,
where love seems a fantasy
but if you love yourself
and others
you take responsibility
for your place in the world
do you know where you are going to?
have you seen the path upon which you walk
when others call you to a way of convenient behaviour
stop and say
‘ I choose to walk a different path’
for real change does not come just in the moments of challenge
and discontent
but in happy days of comfort and dreaming forgetfulness

If you seek to journey far
make sure
that you
do not
leave
yourself
behind

Christopher Hansard:[ Biocide]
what is the history of a landfill
diapers long lived
each of them tells a story
a ’she’ who died tragically young
but her diaper lives on
her parent’s are gone
but the diaper lives on
‘he’ becomes a leader of nations
garners grand acclaim
dies in celebration of a worthy life
but his diaper lives on
what of our trash
and refuse,
what of our thoughts
and imagined refuge
all of this leading to biocide
embalmed faeces
wrapped in plastic
in landfill
over a view
for future
archaeologists, anthropoolgists too
for they will dig
and scurry
and wonder
at why we buried
our poo
so deeply and with reverence
its because of
consumer malfunction
and the loss
of responsibility
landfills everywhere
are our legacy
sad and yet true
