Christopher Hansard:[ inspiration]
where does your inspiration come from?
who do you place your inspiration upon…
thinking that it is they that inspires you
when it is your inspiration
refracted back upon you…
inspiration dwells in
what it may
it is the core of your breath
it fans the blue fire of eternity
that dwells in your heart
you and your life
are inspiration on the journey
to realisation

Christopher Hansard:[ Panic in the afternoon]
Panic in the afternoon
that is when it came, slowly like waking from a long and pleasurable sleep
sitting there in the cafe, the radio blurted out the words,’people are going mad in the streets’
a lot of people went mad just hearing that, leaving their coffee to cool
some of us, ordered more , waiters are most happy when given something to do,
panic in the afternoon, what caused it..? Three centuries of mindless abuse of the planet’s resources
Everyone forgets that it all started with the Industrial Revolution, but which one?..All of them,
History is there to remind us, but we choose to forget, the legacy of the Eighteenth and Nineteenth Century’s economic belief
gave birth to the illness of .’we can have it all-now’
The Twentieth Century was a century of mistaken identities and had ‘no comment’
The earth spins not because of us, but through us…
there was panic in the afternoon, when the ocean washed away the Maldives, there was
a photograph of the prime minister of the maldives standing on the tallest building shaking his fist,
like a captain going down with his ship and there was more panic when London flooded suddenly
there was panic in the afternoon when the Panama Canal was submerged,
and most of
Indonesia
was invaded by the sea
Nature does not wait for global warming indicators, it will happen all at once, globally
there will be panic in the afternoon,
I prefer taking my afternoon coffee in a cafe high on a mountain
where at least a philosophical view can be washed away and leave room for survival

Christopher Hansard:[ Global Warming]
Global Warming
is
a psychological condition
a spiritual crisis
an emotiional reckoning
and a physicial truth
that comes
from
the larger anxiety
of the human
condition
if people want to change Global Warming
they need to stop the way they consume
change the economic belief system
give up the addictions of separateness
and realise
that for every drop of frozen water
in every glacier, so to
a cell in each of our bodies
dissapears
as global warming accelerates
so will the illnesses of humanity
this is because we are all each other
and the earth, only our lack of perception
makes us believe that we are not mud, rock or oil spill

Christopher Hansard:[ when time no longer has its sway]
When time no longer has its sway
over all your plans and hopes,
when time is but a memory
and space a thing no longer
trapped by perception’s faulty glance
then you will know
just who and why
you are
and in that
timeless moment
all the beings that make
you
up
shall be remade, reborn
illuminated
when time no longer has its sway

Christopher Hansard:[ the sun]
the sun
send its rays
out into the arc of space
where its light
falls, already ancient
to warm the urge to life
thus all things under the arc of the sun
are dwelling in
ancient light
and this light
conditions and influences
all thoughts and actions
philosophies and beliefs
all arts and science
all of this
contains the light seeds of the past
our creation is living in the past
and so do our brains
for when we break free of this
in a massive step in evolution
we become no longer children of the solar path

Christopher Hansard:[ anger]
the world is fuelled by anger
but seeks the solace of love
the world is made of anger but moves towards peacefulness
in this world, made by momentary attachments
strung like old false teeth
on a string of anger
love and wisdom
wait for their time
for they are patient and strong

Christopher Hansard:[ solitude]
solitude
is where
inner maturity
grows
solitude is not loneliness
nor is it the rejection of society
but the ability to be
with one’s self
and accept all parts of one’s
self
without judgement, approval or regret
and in that
become more human

Christopher Hansard:[ when waking]
when waking from the sleep
you call your life
what shall you see?
more of the same?
a new way to be?
a new new inner state?
but may be you will wake momentarily
then fall asleep again
and live all your life
empowered by the memory of waking
when waking from your sleep
what will your life be?

Christopher Hansard:[ When in doubt...]
when in doubt
breathe
in and out
and the doubt
will fade and cease
for in the breath
is wisdom and repose
answers and actions
and directions
to be found in your natural flow
of breath
