Each of Us a Prayer

Each of  us a prayer, imperfectly formed,

we are offered to all things in search of our deepest heart,

Each of us a prayer, imperfectly formed,

we find our intention and bring healing,

even though our lives

be racked by troubles, pain and sorrow

we are prayers in human form that seek higher wisdom

when all is unsure

All of our curses, threats and shrieks,

all our caring, soothing and gentleness

all the raging and the calm,

all are prayers,

each of us a prayer,

growing, formed, potential

Our lives , our bodies too,

a voice, a single world uttered by the divine

You, I, She, He, Us, Them, Enemy, Friend

All, each of us a prayer

A prayer in human form, sacred and profane, yet divine in each

humble adoration, life in form, each of us a prayer

for when we pray, whatever it may be , we pray for everyone

that is the miracle, the bewitching mystery

we are the prayer and the praying too
